Pebble Beach Spanish

Water trickles from an ornate clover-shaped relief panel on the plaster wall, and lands in a tiled bath below. The design for this elegant, expansive garden takes its tone from the architectural aesthetic of this Spanish-style estate designed by Eric Miller Architects. Broken stone, fitted or framed by groundcover, forms paths that wind through the garden. A dramatic staircase spills onto the path, its risers across alternating steps faced in bright blue or patterned Talavera tiles. High stucco walls, which host a fireplace and wood alcove, frame the private patio. Beyond an arched wooden double gate, the property features an exterior stone patio framed by a stacked stone wall against a restored native bunch grass meadow flanking the Monterey Peninsula Country Club greens.
