Carmel City Hall

Over 25 years ago, in partnership with the Smithsonian Institution, GCA created the Archives of American Gardens.  These Archives are housed at the Smithsonian, and they serve as a repository for documentation – images, plans and other material — of historic and contemporary gardens throughout the United States.  Many gardens have been documented since the inception of the Archives – public and private gardens, large and small – all serving as informational resources available to researchers, landscape designers, garden enthusiasts and the general public for a variety of educational purposes.  Here is a link to the Smithsonian website and information about the Archives:
